Series Summary
Christmas will be here before we know it, and at Parkview this month, we’re going to take a look at some of the different aspects of the gift that God gave to us in Christ. If you have been a Christian for any length of time, you have probably already learned that Christ is a gift of hope and peace, of redemption and restoration. So we’re calling this Christmas series Rediscovering Christmas: The Gift That Changed The World. Because we all need to be reminded of these things. We all need to rediscover what Christmas is all about.
During a busy season, we need to take the time, slow down, and remember the gift that Jesus is for us. A gift for those who are hopeless, or feel forgotten. A gift for those who feel lonely or abandoned. A gift of redemption and restoration. A gift that was God's plan all along.
We hope you'll join us this month as we seek to rediscover the gift of Christmas, and how it can transform our lives today.
Sermon Summary
Christmas is a very busy time of the year. For many, there are gatherings, parties, and events to attend. There is shopping to go, decorations to hang, gifts to wrap. We can get bogged down in the busyness of the season. And for many, that helps. Staying busy is the only way they can keep their head above water, because, they feel overwhelmed and unnoticed by those around them. So they wear a mask of happiness and glad tiding.
Many people, especially during the Christmas season, feel like they are forgotten. Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever felt unnoticed? Like you’re just not that special? Christmas is all about hope, but often, we don't feel any hope. But in Christmas—in Christ—we have the birth of the only One who can bring us hope. We have someone who reminds us we are not forgotten.
