Sermon Summary

Each year, the third Sunday of January is set aside as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. This provides an excellent reminder of how we have been created in God’s image, and how God’s view of life is sacred. In addition, this provides and excellent opportunity for parents and families to dedicate their children to God.

This date is selected because it falls near January 22, which is was the day, in 1973, that the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states. On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. We use this date as a reminder to celebrate life, to remember the lives lost due to abortion, and to honor the sacredness of life that Goad has created in hi sown image.

Baby Dedications are offered each year in conjunction with Sanctity of Life Sunday, and are available for families with babies and toddlers under two years of age. If you would like more info about this opportunity for next year, feel free to contact the church office with any questions.

This year, as we take a look at what God’s Word says about the value of life, we want to celebrate that to the fullest. All life is sacred, and we want to ensure that we see one another as God sees us. This year, we celebrate the gift of new life with two families who chose to dedicate themselves to raising Godly children.
