Series Summary
Faith does not usually die all at once— it fades through forgetfulness. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians calls believers back to spiritual reality: who God is, who we are in Christ, and how that truth renews life, relationships, and resolve. This series walks through Ephesians to help weary, distracted, or stagnant believers experience a fresh awareness of God’s grace, power, and presence. Refreshing faith begins not with doing more, but with seeing clearly again — and living out of that renewed vision.
Sermon Summary
In Ephesians 3, Paul pulls back the curtain on what he calls “the mystery” — not something mysterious in the sense of being unknowable, but something once hidden that has now been fully revealed in Christ. For generations, God’s plan was only partially seen, hinted at through promises and prophecy. But now, the mystery is clear: through Jesus, Gentiles are brought in, made fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the same promise. What once seemed like a plan centered on one nation is now revealed as a global mission of grace. God was never working in a small story — he was always writing something far bigger, drawing people from every background into one family through Christ.
And in a surprising turn, Paul reminds us that this grand plan doesn’t bypass ordinary people — it includes them. In fact, God delights in using people like Paul (and people like us) to carry this message forward. Our lives are not random or isolated; they are woven into the unfolding story of God’s redemption. As believers, we get to be a part of how God makes his mystery known. We are not just observers — we are participants. The same grace that saved us now sends us, giving our everyday lives eternal significance as we join in revealing Christ to the world.
Even more astonishing is the role of the church in all of this. Paul says that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God is being made known — not just on earth, but even to the spiritual realms. This has always been God’s eternal purpose: to create a people who reflect his wisdom, unity, and grace. And because of Christ, we can live with deep confidence in that plan. We have bold and confident access to God. So when hardship comes, we don’t lose heart — we remember that God is still at work, even when we cannot see it. The mystery has been revealed, the plan is in motion, and we are included in it.
