Sermon Summary

Father’s Day is a day we value at Parkview. It’s an opportunity to honor our fathers in a way that is encouraging and inspiring, as we look at what the Bible has to say about fatherhood.

A father’s greatest legacy is not found in what he owns, achieves, or leaves behind financially, but in the faith he passes on to the next generation. In Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Moses reminds God’s people that a lasting spiritual legacy begins with a personal relationship with the Lord. Before parents can teach faith to their children, they must first love God with all their heart, soul, and strength. Children are shaped not only by what we say, but by what they consistently see. A genuine, everyday faith becomes a powerful testimony that can influence lives for years to come.

Moses also teaches that faith is best passed on through the ordinary moments of life. Conversations around the table, prayers before bed, acts of kindness, and a life marked by integrity all become opportunities to point others toward God. The good news is that building a godly legacy does not require perfection — only faithfulness. Every single one of us has the opportunity to influence others for Christ, whether as a parent, grandparent, mentor, or friend. The small seeds of faith planted today can grow into a harvest that impacts generations tomorrow.

Happy Father’s Day!
