Elemental: You Gotta Have Faith

Series Summary

Our mission as Christians is to "Go and make disciples..." Our job is create disciple-making disciples. But often, we don't know just how to do that. Many Christians are hesitant to share with others because they just don't understand the Gospel message all that well. Others are newer believers, and may still be learning. Either way, we need to make sure we have a solid grasp on the fundamental elements of our faith. We need to be able to comprehend these well enough to explain them clearly to others who may ask why we believe. So it's worth taking to time to reexamine some basics. In this sermon series, we take a look at five elements that comprise the salvation process. Each of these are necessary ingredients, and all of them work together to help us experience the saving grace that God wants to extend to mankind. The elements are faith, confession, repentance, baptism, and new life. As we study each of these elements, our prayer is that you experience a deeper understanding of the offer God has extended to us, that you perceive his grace more fully, and that you come to know his love for you more intimately. Join us as we take a look at the elements of our faith.

Sermon Summary

The first element that we need to look at is the element of faith. Faith is a critical part of our salvation, and we need to understand just what it is. It's more than just a vague belief, and it's more than just a blind leap. But what exactly is faith? And what does it bring to the table when it comes to God's desire to save us from our sins? In this message, we take a look at the concept of faith, where it comes from, how we are called to live it out.
