Series Summary
Our mission as Christians is to "Go and make disciples..." Our job is create disciple-making disciples. But often, we don't know just how to do that. Many Christians are hesitant to share with others because they just don't understand the Gospel message all that well. Others are newer believers, and may still be learning. Either way, we need to make sure we have a solid grasp on the fundamental elements of our faith. We need to be able to comprehend these well enough to explain them clearly to others who may ask why we believe. So it's worth taking to time to reexamine some basics.
In this sermon series, we take a look at five elements that comprise the salvation process. Each of these are necessary ingredients, and all of them work together to help us experience the saving grace that God wants to extend to mankind. The elements are faith, confession, repentance, baptism, and new life.
As we study each of these elements, our prayer is that you experience a deeper understanding of the offer God has extended to us, that you perceive his grace more fully, and that you come to know his love for you more intimately. Join us as we take a look at the elements of our faith.
Sermon Summary
The fifth and final element in our series is as much an outcome of our salvation as it is a part of the process of our salvation. When God saves us, it's not just an item to cross off of some checklist; it's the start of a lifelong journey in a spiritual relationship with God. When Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that we are a new creation, what he means is that the old us has gone, and something new has come in its place. We are called to walk in a newness of life.
That's exciting news, because we are transformed more and more into the likeness of Christ! And, we have what we need to be able to share this new life with others! Are you ready?
